A reference framework for B2B market research — built entirely outside the vendor self-reporting loop.
Mission
HYMBS — HuanYu Market Research Truth, Benchmarks & Standards — is an independent research institution that establishes verifiable reference points for the B2B market research industry.
The B2B research market has a structural information problem: suppliers report their own performance metrics, buyers have no independent reference point, and the resulting information asymmetry consistently favours vendors at the negotiating table.
HYMBS exists to correct this asymmetry. We document what independently sourced data shows, publish it under methodology-transparent conditions, and maintain no financial relationship with the vendors whose claims we analyse.
Independence Commitment
HYMBS does not accept vendor sponsorship, affiliate fees, certification payments, or any form of remuneration from companies whose products or services appear in our analysis. Our operating model is fully independent of the industry we study.
Geographic Scope
HYMBS covers B2B market research practice across Asia-Pacific, North America, and Europe, with particular depth in the Greater China market where independent benchmark data has historically been least available.
Positioning
Clarity about what we do not do matters as much as describing what we do. The following activities are outside our scope by design.
Not This
HYMBS does not score, rank, or recommend specific research vendors. Our benchmarks describe industry distributions — not vendor quality tiers. No vendor appears on a "recommended" or "blacklisted" list.

No vendor can pay to achieve "HYMBS certification." Our standards are published for buyers to apply independently. A vendor claiming HYMBS compliance without buyer verification has no standing.

HYMBS does not conduct research for hire, provide panel access, or fulfil fieldwork. We do not compete with the vendors we study. Research buyers seeking suppliers should contact those suppliers directly.
✕Methodology
Pre-registered definitions. All metrics are operationally defined before data collection begins. The definition of "completion rate" used in our benchmarks is not adjusted after seeing the data.
Source independence. Benchmark data is sourced from research buyers, not vendors. Vendor-reported metrics are not included in the calculation of any HYMBS benchmark figure.
Minimum sample thresholds. No benchmark is published with fewer than 40 independently verified data points. Where sample is insufficient, we report the gap rather than interpolate.
Confidence interval reporting. Every published figure includes a stated confidence interval. Point estimates without uncertainty bounds are not published as benchmarks.
Dispute protocol. Any published benchmark can be formally disputed by submitting independently verifiable data that contradicts the stated range. Accepted disputes trigger a public revision note.
Version control. All benchmark publications are versioned and dated. Historical benchmark versions remain publicly accessible. We do not silently revise published figures.
